Eleazar and Drisana Garza

About five years ago, my husband and I began tutoring students in a very poor area of Matamoros, Mexico. We help them with their schoolwork, especially reading/writing and mathematics. We also have a Bible study with them twice a week and on Fridays have a small group Bible study for kids and parents, supported by our local church. We have raised money to build two homes for two different families in the area and began a feeding program to give the children a meal on Mondays and Wednesdays over a year ago. Our goal is to be able to provide a meal for the kids all five school days (Monday-Friday) every week.  We are also praying for a van in order for the middle and high schoolers to continue joining our youth group on Saturdays at our church.  We are also looking for volunteers to teach the kids certain trades so they have skills to help their families (the adults will also be welcome to learn a trade, such as carpentry, baking, sewing, etc.)  God has opened many doors for us working in this area and we are grateful for the opportunity to be a light in the darkness of this world!  "How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?"  --Romans 10:14
